Yamaha made a 552cc, 70 degree, water cooled v-twin motorcycle in 1982 and called it the Yamaha Vision. It was released one year after Yamaha made the historic 1981 Yamaha Virago, the worlds first v-twin powered Japanese cruiser. The Vision didn't last very long and was dropped in 1984. It was in production for only 2 years probably because it was more expensive than other comparable motorcycles and it looked weird. Notice the trailing front axle, monoshock rear suspension and shaft final drive in the advertisement posted below. The Yamaha Vision was definitely not your typical Japanese motorcycle.
