A 1970 Kawasaki Motorcycle Advertisement
« on: January 04, 2025, 06:16:02 PM »
Here is a small part of a Kawasaki ad that appeared in a 1970 motorcycle magazine. It was a 6 page ad, but I'm only showing 2 page's. Notice all 10 motorcycle models from Kawasaki are powered by a 2 stroke engine. For the most part, 2 stroke engines are no longer used in motorcycles because of pollution. Thanks EPA. Also notice 4 of the 10 models are using a CDI ignition system, which Kawasaki brags about and rightfully so. CDI ignition was a new and more reliable technology than the older points and condenser ignition systems when it first showed up in the 1970's. I was surprised when I recently saw motorcycles manufactured in India and Pakistan bragging about using CDI ignition systems. I said to myself: "hey, that's been around for decades! Why are you bragging about it?" Notice Kawasaki claims their little 90cc model has a top speed of 70 miles per hour. Ya, I kind of doubt that claim is true. Maybe if you weigh 90 pounds and your going down hill with a strong wind at your back.  :D

Anyway, these 2 pages of the advertisement contain the most information about Kawasaki models for 1970.
