Someone said this is the most annoying feature on new automobiles, and the person might be right. This is the switch used to turn off the Auto Start feature on many new cars. The cars computer is programmed to turn the cars engine off when the car and driver are waiting at a stop light, and start the car again when they're ready to go. The feature is automatically turn ON each time the driver starts the car, so they need to turn the feature OFF each time if they don't want it. It would annoy me to no end if my car had this feature, and is another reason why I'm thankful I have a car that's 24 years old and doesn't have any of these bad features. The Auto Start feature is the result of EPA regulations demanding more fuel economy from new cars. The EPA would like to see gasoline powered cars disappear, and is the reason why they keep making it harder and harder for car manufacturers to meet the regulations with the internal combustion engine. It just makes life worse for all of us.
