Honda builds a very popular motorcycle for Pakistan called the Honda CD70, which outnumbers any other motorcycle in the country. They also build a model called CG125, and I'm sure there are other models from Honda I'm not familiar with. The CD70 retails in Pakistan for about $540. The motorcycle has a single cylinder 4 stroke engine with the cylinder pointing more towards the front of the bike like the engine used on the Honda Grom, Dax 125, Monkey, Super Cub, and Trail 125 sold here in USA. Power from the engine is transferred through a wet manual clutch and a 4 speed manual transmission with a chain final drive that is covered to shield the chain from the elements. The CD70 is a standard style motorcycle with an upright riding position. Drum brakes are used for both the front and rear wheel. It has a traditional twin shock rear suspension and telescopic front forks. This motorcycle is a Universal 3rd World Motorcycle for sure.
There are also several motorcycle brands from China sold in Pakistan that are basically a clone of the Honda CD70, but are about half the price. Yes, they sale for less than $300, and I would love to have one for that price. They're almost a carbon copy of the CD70 except for the branding, stickers and lettering.
It's interesting Honda defines CD to mean "cash deposit," which means the owner can resell the bike without any problems and get his cash back. Honda actually prints on the side of the gas tank the word "Honda" and below that "Cash Deposit 70" in cursive writing. I've also seen models that say only "cash deposit" without the 70. In one particular cloned Chinese motorcycle called Road Prince RP70, they printed on the side of the gas tank "cash forever 70," which doesn't match the model designated letters "RP" at long. I guess that was too much work.
