Jordan Peterson can't answer questions about the fundamental tenets of Christianity, but I think he claims to be Christian. Wow!
This reminds me of an interview between Ben Shapiro and Catholic Bishop Barron. Shapiro asked Barron if he needs Jesus to get to heaven, and Bishop Barron says "no." He than went on to say Jesus is the privileged way to salvation, but the other way is to have a clear conscience. What's most telling to me during this question and answer exchange between Shapiro and Barron are the beads of sweat forming on Barron's forehead. You can see it in the video below.
Do you think if Bishop Barron had told Ben Shapiro he can't get to heaven without accepting Jesus Christ as his lord and savior it would lead to Bishop Barren being accused of antisemitism? Ben Shapiro is Jewish, therefore if Ben Shapiro needs Jesus, then all Jews need Jesus.
A Christian response to these questions should be:
- Jesus is the only way to God.
- Salvation is only through Jesus Christ
- Ben Shapiro will go to hell if he rejects Jesus Christ
- Being born a Jew isn't a ticket to heaven
- Jesus was born to a virgin
- Jesus was resurrected from the dead
It's wise to question the motive of anyone who answers differently.
