Here's a 1990 ad for an interesting motorcycle built by Honda called the Pacific Coast PC800. It was manufactured from 1989-1990, 1994-1998, and is powered by a 800cc liquid cooled v-twin engine with a 5 speed manual transmission. Power is transferred to the rear wheel through a shaft final drive. The PC800 was marketed as a touring motorcycle and named after the Pacific Coast Highway.
What makes this motorcycle so interesting is almost the entire motorcycle is covered in plastic including the mirrors, and the seat lifts up like a car trunk hood to reveal a car-trunk-like storage compartment. This motorcycle was designed by the people who worked for Honda Acura to give it styling cues and features that resemble an automobile. Yes, you heard it right. A Honda motorcycle designed to appeal to people who prefer driving automobiles. I don't know about you, but if I preferred driving a car, then I would drive a car.
The PC800 didn't catch on and was only in production for 7 years. Most people will either hate or love the PC800, but I think everyone will agree it's an interesting bike that adds something to motorcycle history.
